NH Media Auditions
The NH Media Auditions started in a May from a tweet by the manager of U-KISS. I put it off because of all the things I had to prepare and do. Unfortunately, I put it off till mid-July. By which, they already selected all the girls of the group they wanted to create. This goes to show, don't hesitate, just do it. If you hesitate, you may miss your chance.

A Pink - I Don't Know Review
So lately I've had the song "I Don't Know" by A Pink (a new girl group) stuck in my head. I only watched it once and it just popped up randomly. So I watched the video again a few more times. I break my reviews into first impressions, video, dance, concept, and overall.
First Impressions:
The first thing I thought of was that these girls were not that pretty. I don't mean that in a mean way, but I mean, they don't look like perfect little dolls which are common in the KPop scene. They look natural. However, I mean they could go astray like Dal Shabet from Supa Dupa Diva to Pink Rocket. However, even so. I still feel like they all look alike. And trust me I was trying to tell the difference. (I am Asian and I don't like it when people tell us we all look alike)
Video:
OMG! Kikwang was in the video! He's so cute
Then I was like. Wow, should the director have made the girls wear heels. He's shorter than all of them when they have heels one. Maybe that's why they had so many sitting scenes.
My next thought was, "Wow. They are all such creepers." I'm not bashing, but wouldn't you be freaked out a bit (even if it is a KPop idol) that a random stranger sneaked into your room and was watching you sleep? Also, how did he get there? Was it like T-Ara's Yayaya where he crashed a plane? And if he was stranded there, how did he get out in the end? Why did it also look like there was only one bedroom in the entire house?
Dance:
The dance looked really cutesy. When I first saw it, I had the impression of a little girl skipping down a meadow. I really did like the clapping move though. I think I'm try that someday in the middle of school :)
Concept:
I understand the concept is clean and cute. This is a debut MV for a girl group so it fits the cutesy parameters. However; the girls sometimes look like they are trying painfully hard to act cute. Some girls can act cute naturally, but never force it. You can act cute just don't over do it or you look like you are choking on a too sweet piece of candy.
No bashing on my part. I normally love the cute concept, but natural or even slightly feigned cuteness is better that "MUST ACT CUTE! GIGGLE GIGGLE GIGGLE!"
Overall:
The music was good. I thought it was a sweet cute song. The video was a little over the top for me on the cuteness level, but it was clean and good. I am just having trouble imagining this group diverging from the cute concept.

simonandmartina
To all of those who love kpop, you should know these names. To those who don't.....DO YOU LIVE UNDER A FREAKIN' ROCK! Sorry....anyway.
I LOVE Simon and Martina! This Canadia duo is amazing. To also prove their awesomeness, they called their blog EATYOURKIMCHI (you gotta love that)! They do all sorts of crazy and fun things in Korea. I believe they are English teachers that teach English (no duh!) to Korean students. Therefore they live in Korea (really?!). I have been watching their channel for a while now, and I recommend that anybody who loves those wacky Koreans (take no offense, I am half-Korean) should watch their channel, simonandmartina. All the videos are in English. Thank goodness because I cannot speak Korean :) A lot of their videos provide an interesting foreigner outlook of Korean customs. The link is:
http://www.youtube.com/user/simonandmartina
Every Monday, they release on of their Music Mondays where they release their review of a requested KPop music video. They rate it based on the actual video, the dance, and the English (being the grammar freaks [like me!] that they are). Request a current video, and you'll probably find a review of it soon.
They also have a new WTF segment in the Korea FTW section. It stands for Wonderful Treasure Find. They have great video's on poop cards to nose-shapers!
Among all those videos are also just videos about life in Korea. With their beautiful camera, they show great landscapes, cityscapes, and foodscapes of Korea. It seriously makes it really tempting to just fly to Korea with an empty suitcase and go shop all day long along with a camera.
Now also on their blog is a section of FAQ's about Korea. In there, they discuss living in Korea, food, Bucheon (the area where they live), blogging, pets in Korea, and teaching in Korea.
If you want to become a teacher in Korea even if you don't speak Korean, it is a great source.
I also recommend subscribing to their weekly newsletter. It provides links to new videos and also talks about Korean culture. There is also a Korean slang word thrown in their with a definition. GREAT STUFF GUYS!!!! I hope you people look into it because it is an amazing site!
